You and your organization take care of so many people, but who takes care of you?

One on One Support for Individuals in Helping Professions

Whether you run the town office, tend to the bodies and minds of patients, organize food drives, run a shelter, keep a client roster of kids in foster care, or rush off to emergencies with a siren overhead, we have a profound appreciation for the investment of heart and soul which you put into our communities.

That’s one of the main reasons we keep our chaplain request line open. Whether you have a faith tradition or no faith tradition, our chaplains are prepared to hold space and tend to the spirits of anyone in need of comfort and a compassionate listening presence. We know that no one can be strong all the time; in order to help others, we need a dedicated space to set down our burdens, express our griefs and cares, and make room for hope and resilience to replenish themselves.

Chaplains from Spiritual Care Services of Maine have been coming to our Spurwink Living Room crisis center on a regular basis for the past year or so, which has been such a blessing! They are a consistent, compassionate presence for people who are desperately in need of a sense of belonging and connection. They are active listeners who know how to make people feel cared for, heard and seen. We are incredibly grateful that they are a part of our care team here.

Backup For the Whole Team

At SCS Maine, we have extensive experience collaborating with government agencies like Strengthen ME, FEMA, and SAMHSA, as well as medical facilities, senior living communities, and non-profit organizations who are dedicated to providing consistent spiritual care to the communities they serve.

While no one anticipates a crisis, our clinically trained chaplains are also equipped and ready to support towns and facilities in times of unexpected tragedy. For example, we were there to provide assistance after the tragic shootings in Lewiston, Maine, in October 2023.

Whether you're looking to bring chaplains in on a regular basis or need immediate support during an emergency, we’re here to help. Contact us to explore how we can assist your organization during times of need.
